Roughly half of all Somali households rely on remittances to cover basic needs such as food, water and basic health care. As result of COVID-19, there is already noticeable burden as remittances declined due to COVID-19.
As a result of this unprecedented threat faced by Somalis who relied on remittances for living, Somali, International and Academicians issued the attached warning letter. The letter has been endorsed by over 100 Somali and non-Somali NGOs and Academics. SOYDAVO (98) is among the number of Somali NGOs that has endorsed the letter.
